The CCLA Overview

Our Mission Statement:To Offer support and education to Patients and families suffering from Liver Disease: Hep A,B,C, Wilson's Disease, Auto Immune Disease, Cirrhosis and others, and the treatments available. To Offer support and education to Patients and families dealing with liver transplantation. To Help educate the public regarding liver disease and the need for Organ Donors.

CCLA offers support and education to Patients and families suffering from Liver Disease: Hep A,B,C, Wilson’s Disease, Auto Immune Disease, Cirrhosis and others, and the treatments available, as well as support and education to Patients and families dealing with liver transplantation. We also help educate the public regarding liver disease and the need for Organ Donors

The proceeds, less expenses will benefit CCLA to help provide information, via mail and the internet, to patients and their families. Furthermore, funds will be allocated to patients, as available, to help with their uncovered medical expenses, specifically for testing, and medications.

We have over 300 members in metropolitan Charlotte area alone. Some are liver transplants as young as 3 years old, some are waiting for transplant surgery, or on new forms of treatment that may prevent their disease from advancing. Many of them are dealing with the issues related to Hep C.

There are no paid employees, or paid board members

We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month, except in August.

Meetings are held at Carolinas Medical Center 1000 Blythe Boulevard
Charlotte NC unless otherwise indicated.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, Meetings begin at 7:00pm, speakers at 7:15pm unless otherwise noted

Saturday June 14: ANNUAL PICNIC Szpara's Nest. By request, this event was moved to Saturday to allow more people to attend. It begins at 2:00pm and ends when the last person leaves. Outdoor tents will be up, and indoor shelter is available in the event of rain. This is becoming bigger every year. The whole family is invited. Grills will be hot, and the gang will be here. Food will include fare for meat eaters and vegetarians. Make a note of it on your calendar.
